Selectors for 2025
The club invites selectors to assess each submitted image, and we compile the exhibition from the top scoring images.
Nick Akers
Nick has been taking photographs since the mid 1960s, starting with a Kodak Instamatic. These days his main interests are Landscape and Wildlife photography. He has been involved in camera clubs since the mid 1970s and is currently a member and Membership Secretary of North Norfolk Photographic Society. He joined the EAF Executive Committee in 2017 and edits the quarterly online EAF Bulletin. He is also currently serving as the EAF President until 2026.
Nick achieved his ARPS in Documentary photography with a panel of Fenland landscape prints which charted the manmade infrastructure that has appeared since the Fens were drained. He has also achieved BPE4* in national photographic exhibitions. He qualified as an EAF judge some 10 years ago and judges regularly for clubs in East Anglia and beyond. He was previously a selector for the Cambridge Camera Club Exhibition in 2018. Although a digital photographer, Nick continues to shoot occasionally on film and is a member of the RPS Analogue Group. He lives in Norfolk with wife, Liz, who is also a keen photographer.
Roy Essery
My love of photography began around 2002 when my wife suggested I attend a Saturday morning digital photography course at a local school where the tutor encouraged me by saying that she thought I had a “good seeing eye”. When the course finished I joined Colchester Photographic Society. I still remain a very active member to this very day and for around the last ten years have had the privilege of being its Chairman.
In 2009 I gained ”Distinction” status with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB), which in 2016 was followed by that of a “Masters" (MPAGB), the highest distinction awarded by the PAGB. I am a PAGB Mentor to those seeking an accreditation themselves. I am also an A Panel Judge within the EAF Federation and also regularly give talks to clubs. My photographic interest and style lies very much in the making of images having a strong pictorial bias and my personal favourite genre is that of people I encounter when out and about and with whom I usually like to engage with directly. I confess to being very much a print worker and as well as club print competitions, I have also enjoyed entering the larger UK based national exhibitions and international salons.
Tom Peck
After a successful career in business, Tom has turned his passion for photography into his profession. Based in Epping, Essex, he is a judge on the EAF circuit, a photographic commentator for various magazines, a regular speaker at photographic clubs across the UK, and a workshop leader for questphoto.co.uk. He loves all forms of photography, especially landscape, sports, architecture and portraiture. His trips with Quest take him all over the globe to help people improve their photography whether shooting with film, digital SLRs or phone cameras. They also lead to the accusation, mainly from his wife, that he is constantly on holiday…
