This event was much anticipated and did not disappoint. Ian Wilson is not only our Webmaster extraordinaire, but also a fine photographer. He delighted us with what he described as his 'holiday snaps' but which it was obvious for everyone to see, were many notches higher in terms of the quality and range of subjects. It was a three-week adventure around Western Canada with its fabulous wildlife and spectacular scenery. The trip started in Vancouver city, taking in bears and whales on Vancouver Island, before heading to Whistler (of Olympic fame) and across to Banff in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. In addition to great images, Ian also offers great insight to the landscape, the behaviour of his subjects and really gives everyone the sense of what it's like to be on such a trip. You leave having gained lots of knowledge about the place. Other highlights included: First Nations tribal art; Canada's largest temperate rainforest; mountains and valleys; glaciers and emerald-colours lakes; enormous trains and spiral tunnels; and, of course, a whole variety of animals and birds. A projected presentation of travel, nature and landscape images with the added delight of stunning prints on the side, for everyone to enjoy. Ian Wilson's website displays a number of galleries.
