17.11.25 Jack Lodge is a professional landscape, nature and wildlife photographer from Winbourne, Dorset. Through his photography, Jack strives to capture the change of each season, documenting the ever-changing landscape as the light and weather changes – capturing the beauty surrounding us. Jack was an extremely engaging presenter, who took us through his career to-date, and delivered his very top tips to producing great landscape photography. He only picked up a camera in 2015, when asked to take some photos on an architecture field trip - he was studying to be an architect at the time. Very quickly, he was hooked on photography. His name started getting known on social media and people asked if they could join in with him. Whilst initially, he sent them to other 'more experienced' photographers, he was encouraged by those fellow photographers, to go professional. He now runs a full programme of planned tours, and more spontaneous outings. He summarised his process simply as the three P's - Photograph, Process, Print. He now ALWAYS prints his favourite shots and 'lives with them for a while' before he decides whether to post on social media. He is meticulous in his planning of outings, checking several weather apps to ensure the trip is going to reap rewards both for him and anyone with him. He also reminded everyone of the other two P's required for good photography - Patience and Persistence. He suggests everyone should have a passion project - a special place/scene which you return to many times, over years if necessary, to get different light, a different season, a different story. Jack is instagram @jacklodgephotography and on his own website.
