Our latest talk was from one of the club's top photographers and attracted one of the largest audiences this season. Ian's presentation took us on a fabulous journey around Iceland.  It is clear that this is a place that Ian has a huge passion for - the landscape, birdlife, flora and fauna of course, but also the history, the culture, the people and the spectacular geographic features.  Ian took us to the islands of Flatey and Hrisey, the Westfjords and the majority of the northern coastline, whilst providing interesting facts and details at every twist and turn of the road.  A wonderfully rounded talk which delivered on every level.

Ian has been enjoying photography since University days but didn’t have time to take it seriously until he joined his first camera club in 1997.  In those days he worked in film and making darkroom prints and it wasn’t until 2005 that he replaced his film bodies and lenses with a DSLR.  As a member of the Royal Photographic Society he gained his LRPS in 2000.  He has been a member of Cambridge Camera Club since 2007 and gained his ARPS in 2008.  An engineer by profession, his computer and software skills are legendary, and his help and support are widely sought.  A visit to his website is well worth it.   http://photography.greenmen.org.uk/
