The Lichtenstein Ladies

We were pleased to welcome Paul Raddon back to the club.  This time Paul came to tell us about a recent interest of his and his wife's - a few years ago, Paul and Shirley visited the Whitby Steampunk Festival.  It is a very popular and well-atttended festival. They were enthralled by the wild and whacky outfits - some which featured many of the characteristics of the steampunk tradition and others that were just extraordinary.  Steampunk enthusiasts come from far and wide, including those ladies featured in the image above.  He enjoyed the weekend of photography and found the steampunk followers were happy to be photographed, so long as "you asked nicely".  Paul certainly managed to capture some intriguing portraits.  He also visited the sister festival the Whitby Goths Festival.  The second year, Paul and Shirley couldn't resist getting in on the action and had their own, stylish outfits in the stampunk tradition, to fit in with the other festival-goers.  Over the recent years he has built a considerable portfolio of both goths and steampunks and has got to know some of the regular attendees.  He and Shirley continue to enjoy this relatively new interest, together.
