This week's speaker - Roger Newark, was fascinated by aerial photography from a very early age, intrigued by the reconnaissance missions of WWII.  When drones started to become affordable and much more widely available, Roger went on a 1-2-1 course on how to fly one first, before investing.  He now produces award-winning images taken from a different perspective, finding surprising and eye-catching patterns and forms in the landscape.  Some of his images are playful, imaginery landscapes, which bend reality.  He brought his drones to the club - he now has 2, and shared his considerable experience of the equipment and tips on how to fly, before enthralling us all with his images.  He is an active member of the March Camera Club.  He was a featured photographer in Member Spotlights on the RPS website in 2020 and was an award-winner in Amateur Photographer of the Year (Landscapes) in 2021.
