Brighton Murmurations

We realise how lucky we are as a club when we have Ann Miles to step in, when a speaker had to cancel.  Ann has been an active photographer her whole life and for about 10 years, taught general and nature photography at university degree level. She is currently a member of The London Salon - a position that keeps her in touch with the best of pictorial photography around the world. She gained an Associateship in Nature and a Fellowship in Visual Arts and served as Deputy Chair of the Fine Arts Panel for 8 years. This reflects her wide spectrum of photographic interest.   She now sits on the Natural History Distinction Panel.  For our club, where she has been a member for  over three decades, Ann is a constant source of inspiration.  She says 'I enjoy images that depict the interactions of people, architecture, nature and landscape'.  This week she  gave us a refreshing and interesting trip around the seaside resorts in the UK, with insight not only to the landscape and natural features, but to the architecture, the history and the social history.  She also threw in the occasional visit to beaches overseas in Iceland and the Lafoten Islands.  Needless to say, the meeting room was packed with members and 10 guests from our waiting list had a great first meeting.  Ann has lectured all round Britain and gives workshops and individual tuition.  Ann's website is well worth many visits www.pin-sharp2.blogspot.com  or why not subscribe to her blog?
