As one of our members highlighted - this talk is so much more than a talk on aviation photography. Mike gives a good performance and as a former serving member of the RAF, he has built up extensive knowledge of many, many planes - particularly those designed as fighter planes. Giving their make, model, location and in many cases, an interesting annecdote relating to the history of the plane, His enthusiasm was infectious. He also shared his tips and tricks to getting the best action shots and presented many excellent examples of some 'decisive moments' captures. He also shared his bloopers, from which he and we all learned some key lessons. In his own words:
"The talk consists of the equipment I use, various form of Aviation photography & how I go about getting the image, all images show the settings I used to get the shot. I use LR & PS, but my editing is mainly cropping, adjusting highlight, shadows etc, because you can never guarantee the weather as you will see in the section “weather”. I then go through a selection of Airshows I have attended over the years before finishing off with some of the many “Bloopers” I have. "
The Hero Image was taken last year at one of the Shuttleworth shows. Whether interested in aviation photography or not, Mick Mansfield will entertain.
